Everyone needs compassion
A love that's never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a Saviour
The hope of nations
Saviour, He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Forever author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
So take me as you find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything that i believe in
Now i surrender
Shine Your light and
Let the whole world see
We're singing, for the glory of the risen King
Jesus, Shine your light and
Let the whole world see
We're singing for the glory of the risen King

mark this day down in your diary, because history was made.
for the first time in quite a long time, evangel baptist church has got two teams into the bowl competition's semi finals, and doing so without their top scorer who is off on a boat to i-don't-know-where. on a day when memories drifted back to the days of old when joshua would bang in goals at free will, andrew would hold the rear guard, and caleb would charge down defenders with his studs aimed at where his head should be, the boys were boys and prepared for battle.
we thank God for being with us on a day when one of our teams was depleted in numbers, for he brought unexpected replacements like joel, who came on and scored an absolute cracker of a goal in the top corner. We've should also be thankful for the weather which cooled down significantly for our second team to score a much needed victory in the late afternoon that sealed their passasge into the bowl competition.
it was a day when we could all bask in one anothers' fellowship while at the same time enjoying abit of a kickabout. the Evangel A, who played in the morning, fired their way into the Bowl semis with a resounding 5-2 victory while evangel B, who played in the afternoon, were content with controlling possession and stroking the ball around to hold the lead, eventually prevailing 2-0 in their final match to see them through to the Bowl semis too.
these semi finals will be held in two weeks time on a saturday. i know that this will be right smack in the middle of all our exam preparations, but for those who can spare the morning, please do come down and support us. it would be a tremendous encouragement to the boys for the effort that they've put in!
mark down this day in your diaries as well, 13th of september; because history might be rewritten if one of Evangel's teams goes on to lift the Bowl.
see you all in two weeks!

hey y'all,
i trust that everyone had fun today playing the two games during Youth, we now know who the marshmallow-guzzlers among us are.
for some, Prelims have already begun. among others, the Promos are starting soon and for everyone else, the EOYs in some form or another have either already begun or are going to commence in a few weeks time. don't knock yourself out studying! remember to take your fair share of breaks, and do spend time praying for the others who're in the midst of their preparations too. leave a tag if you've any prayer requests!
also, please do start to consider your participation for this year's Youth Camp. after a 2 or 3 year (what a wait) sabbatical, the concept of the EBC Youth Camp is back and i can promise you that it'll be an experience that you will come to remember as a
hallmark of the youth experience.
i leave you with a quote from a friend. have a blessed week!
"be kinder than what is necessary, because everyone is fighting some kind of battle."
